The Hotshots are a rag-bag outfit from Barrow, Scunthorpe, and Lancashire who meet every couple of months to terrorise the local inhabitants with their close harmony singing, bizarre key changes, and silly shirts.  They play an eclectic mix of red-hot blues, Texas boogie, rock & roll classics, and songs from Walt Disney films.

Mainly a cover band, their motto is "if they like it, we'll play it", and probably accounts for a repertoire which ranges from "Paranoid" to "My old man's a Dustman".  Billy has written one song, entitled "two outta three's near enough" * an autobiographical work based on his belief that all the best blues guitarists are black, middle aged, and fat.   Nick has written many songs but an ASBO prevents the band from performing them.

Billy, (aged 51 and still unusual), is an outstanding lead guitarist, and has been in many bands over the decades.  Multi-talented Bass player Jules regularly performs with a proper band,  and Nick and Ben just come along for the laughs, and the music.  Ben is a relative newcomer to the band since he managed to get his drums out his dad's loft (true, I swear),  and Nick makes up for his amateur guitar playing (he only knows three chords and two of those are F), with loud singing, heavy drinking, and poncing about on stage.

The band can be contacted via The Six Bells in Barrow. Tel. (01469) 530551
