I've now been performing in the area for five years. My debut performance was with local band Feedback in 1999 and after this I participated in some acoustic nights before being given the opportunity to take part in the first Katie's Concert in September 2002. I was keen to support the charity because as well as being in the sixth form with Katie, I have also lost two aunties to cancer, and therefore fully support fundraising for cancer research.
Katie's Concerts have given me the opportunity to perform regularly and increased my confidence to enter into other events. Since the first concert I have taken part in Scunthorpe Telegraph's 'Pub Idol' competition, narrowly missing out on a place in the semi-finals, participated in the Hull Daily Mail Talent Trail and earned a place in the final of the Red Lion talent contest in Broughton. I have also done several gigs with guitarist Mark Robinson and we are available for gigs in the future.
I have always been a huge lover of music and most of the inspiration for my performances comes from artists such as Dido and the Beautiful South.
